You’ve probably heard about carb loading pre-exercise; eating a large bowl of pasta to boost your energy levels before going on a big bike ride. But is this really the best thing to do? When it comes to fat loss, the science says no! Eating carbohydrates raises your insulin levels, resulting in less fat-burning during your workouts. But by not eating carbs you will gain a greater fat burn and enable your Central Nervous System (CNS) to run more efficiently, which translates to increased strength and more muscle growth!
Along with avoiding carbs, it is best to not eat a large meal before training. If you eat a big meal before working out, blood is sent to your digestive system to help process your meal instead of to your muscles. For these reasons BODi Pre Workout is carbohydrate free and contains the perfect balance of energy.
When we workout we start breaking down our muscles in order to rebuild them bigger and stronger than before. Bigger muscles equal a higher metabolism and more fat burning! By combining the perfect mix of proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals, BODi Post Workout maximises your muscle growth, recovery and fat burning, making it your number 1 post workout meal!
The aim of most training programs, especially weight lifting or interval training systems, is to break down your muscles so as they regrow bigger and stronger. This will increase your metabolism and make your body burn more fat! Consuming protein after resistance training reduces muscle breakdown and increases muscle growth. A high quality, fast-absorbing protein such as WPI is ideal as it is broken down and rushed to your muscles quickly! To maximise muscle growth over the following 24 hours the addition of a second type of protein, which is slower absorbing, namely casein, is also very valuable. BODi Post Workout contains both WPI and casein to maximise muscle growth and recovery.
Certain amino acids (the building blocks of protein) called BCAA’s can directly trigger muscle growth and reduce muscle breakdown, so it is recommended to consume BCAA’s straight after your workout.
