Self-care is a very buzzy word on social media right now, and while it may seem to be overused, the idea behind it is really important to incorporate into every day life! As such, we've come up with a few simple, accessible and achievable ways to practice more self-care in your daily routine to ensure that you are able to be the best, happiest and most stress-free version of yourself!
Start your day in a healthy way
Whether it be treating yourself to a morning coffee, blending up a vitamin-packed green juice, or waking up a bit earlier to go for a quick walk, kickstarting your day in a healthy, positive way will set you up to be in a great mood for all that's in store for the rest of the day!
Take up an activity that is relaxing
Setting aside time for a hobby or activity that you find relaxing is a great way to practice self-care throughout the day. Yoga is an amazing way to unwind while also focusing on your mental and physical health (check out more amazing benefits here), but even something as simple as drawing or baking is a great way to make time for yourself!
Cook delicious, healthy food
Feeling healthy on the outside starts with what you put into your body, so allowing time to cook up fresh, healthy meals should always be a priority, even if it is just a couple of times a week! If you're stuck for ideas, try our favourite bolognese recipe, put on some music and get cooking!
Break a sweat
Of course, exercise is one of the best ways to look after your body, and it can also help you to feel mentally clearer by releasing endorphins and serotonin. It is also a great way to set aside time for yourself or even make time for socialising by taking up a group class!
Create a skin care routine
Some influencers may make the idea of a skin care routine seem some what out of reach, by using 100 of the most expensive skin care products. However, this does not need to be the case! There are so many great, affordable skin care brands that you can easily pick up from your local Priceline, which can make you feel as pampered and relaxed as any of those more expensive brands.
Get outside for some fresh air
Be it sitting outside for a morning coffee, taking your dog for a walk, or going for an afternoon run, even spending 15 minutes outside in the fresh air can make such a difference to your mood and stress levels!
