Marie Kondo Your Snacking Habits

If you're anything like us, one cheeky snack in between meals can turn into two, then three and before you know it you've eaten the bag of chips!

Even the healthiest snack can be detrimental to your health and fitness goals if overeaten! Think about almonds, while a handful of raw, unsalted almonds sounds healthy in theory, if one handful becomes the whole container it adds up to a whole lot of unwanted calories! The majority of the time, snacking becomes more of a habit than actually out of hunger, which is why we've decided to take a page from Marie Kondo's book, and figure out which snacks genuinely spark joy and which are just a habit!

Next time your 3 o'clock craving has you reaching for that muesli bar, stop and think about whether you are actually hungry and wanting a sweet treat, or if it is just something that you tend to do around the same time each day! If it's the latter, try swapping it out for a piece of fruit or a tea or coffee, or even try getting up and going for a walk, and then see how you feel!

Of course, we are always about listening to your body and not depriving yourself, so if you get a lot of joy out of the snacks you have, go for it! Life's too short to force yourself to avoid that cookie... everything in moderation after all!
