Tell us about yourself:
My name is Jess. I’m a 28 year old mum to a 9 year old boy named Caleb and I’m studying nursing at uni. I work as a bar attendant and do a mixture of day and night shifts which saw me not getting enough quality sleep and eating at some ridiculous times of the night or morning. Juggling being a mum, studying and working was starting to take its toll on my body, not just physically but I was an emotional wreck as well. I found I was so busy taking care of everyone else, that I wasn’t taking care of myself and my turning point was seeing photographs of myself from a night out and I hated what I saw. I had huge bags under my eyes and I was bursting out of my jeans so it was from that I decided that I was going to do something about it. I joined the gym, adjusted my hours at work, changed my diet and incorporated BODi in to my new healthy lifestyle and I have honestly never felt or looked better.
How did you find out about BODi?
I came across a BODi add on Instagram. I had been struggling with finding a suitable pre/post workout shake and meal replacement shake for when I was doing nightshifts. I then went on to the website, read the huge number of rave reviews and thought I’d give it a try. Best. Decision. Ever.
What made you try BODi the first time?
I had injured myself at the gym and was going to require 8 weeks off training. As I wasn’t going to be training and burning a large amount of calories, I wanted to try and hopefully incorporate BODi meal replacement shakes in to my new routine to try and keep the weight off.
Have you tried other weight loss products/programs?
Yes I have and they all tasted disgusting which made it hard to stick with.
What makes BODi different for you?
BODi is the first meal replacement shake that I’ve tried that actually tastes amazing. With others that I’ve tried, each time I’ve had them, I’ve had to pinch my nose and try and swallow it down as quickly as possible as they were not enjoyable in the slightest. But with BODi, it tastes absolutely delicious. Its not too heavy on the stomach and I don’t have any bloating afterwards despite feeling full from the BODi shake. The BODi breakfast shake is the only shake that I can stomach prior to a workout that doesn’t leave me feeling sick during my session.
How do you use BODi?
I use the BODi breakfast shake every morning. As someone that has never been a huge fan of breakfast, the shake is great as its not too heavy first thing upon waking up. On my cardio days at the gym I use the BODi post work out shake. It does taste a little different from the breakfast shake, but it is still extremely pleasant. I also use the BODi meal replacement shakes periodically around my uni exams or weeks where I work a lot of hours and aren’t able to get the gym as often as I'd like.
How much weight/dress size have you lost with BODi?
In a matter of 4 months I have gone from a size 12 to a size 8-10 depending on the store. I have also lost more than 10 kilos.
How do you feel now compared to before you started your BODi journey?
Absolutely fantastic. I have a lot more energy each day and more productive because of it. I am also a lot more happier with what I see in the mirror.
What inspires your healthy lifestyle?
Firstly, to have a lot more energy to play with my son. Secondly, when you look and feel good about yourself there is absolutely no better feeling.
How has your approach to health and wellness changed since using BODi?
I’ve learnt that its okay to have days where you don’t completely stick to your diet and fitness regime. And instead of beating myself up about it like I used to and just continuing the binge and blow out for the week, I know that I can incorporate my BODi meal replacement shakes in to my routine that week and get back on track.
How do you find a balance between healthy eating and enjoying life?
The only way to stay on track is to have a flexible approach to dieting and not be in complete restriction as this is what causes binges and blow outs. Life is too short to not have a few cocktails with your girlfriends or have a cheat meal. But they key is to not beat yourself up about it, enjoy it and then get back on track.
What is your go-to cheat meal?
I am an absolute sucker for a big hearty pub feed. My go to cheat meal is Parmigiana with a side of chips and gravy.
What would you like other people to know about BODi?
That it actually works. That you won’t starve as you do feel full after having the shakes. And they taste bloody amazing. And if cost is an issue, they have Afterpay which can be a lifesaver if you’re budgeting.
Describe BODi in 3 words
