How did you find out about BODi?
I discovered BODi in 2016 from a work a colleague. I had mentioned that I was considering trying some meal replacement shakes. She highly recommended BODi due to the amazing taste, her personal results and the cute black BODi bottle.
What made you try BODi the first time?
In 2016 I had reached a point in my life where I was extremely unhappy with who I was and my appearance. I was extremely overweight and tired of being hurt by people’s remarks regarding my weight. At that point in time the variety of foods I consumed was quite limited and generally consisted of high carbs, take away and anything that avoided vegetables. I hated healthy food. As such, I thought that meal replacement shakes might be an option to help kick start my weight loss journey since “healthy” meals were a difficulty for me.
Have you tried other weight loss products or programs?
Prior to BODi I hadn’t really tried other weight loss products. As a teenager I was a part of a weight loss group consisting of middle-aged women in an attempt to find support from people in a similar situation to me. This was actually an extremely embarrassing moment for me. At times I would try to restrict what I consumed but this was always temporary and I would end up putting back on more then I lost.
What makes BODi different for you?
BODi is different for me because it actually works. I find that it keeps me full all day unlike what I’ve heard from people who have tried other products. I love the support that the BODi team provides and know that any questions I have will be answered quite promptly. I also love the subtly of the packaging and am not embarrassed to make my shakes in public. There isn’t that stigma of being on a “cheap” meal replacement shake.
How do you use BODi?
When I first started using BODi I opted to use the product 3 times a week on alternating days. I live quite a “hectic” lifestyle and am very rarely home. BODi suited this lifestyle perfectly as I was able to use the product on days when I wouldn’t be home to cook. In the past these days would mean I’d grab KFC or Maccas, so it was great to have a quick and healthy alternative. I now use BODi once a week to maintain my weight loss. From the beginning I have found that I feel full on my BODi days and didn’t need any of the recommended snacks throughout the day.
How much weight/dress sizes have you lost with BODi?
When I decided to start using BODi I was the heaviest I had ever been in my life ~115kg. I felt ashamed that my weight was 3 figures! I was wearing a size 22 and it saddened me that I couldn’t shop where the other girls my age would. It was so hard to find clothes that didn’t make me look 10 years older. So my only goal was to weigh in under 100kgs and be able to shop at your mainstream shops. It didn’t take me long to reach this initial goal and I was shocked that it actually happened. So I kept going and I now weigh ~65kg, meaning I’ve lost 50kgs over the space of 3 years. I now wear a size 8! I cannot believe I wear single digit clothes.
How do you feel now compared to before you started your BODi journey?
My greatest achievement from my BODi journey was the day I looked in the mirror for the first time in my life and genuinely felt beautiful. For the first time I was happy with the person staring back at me and proud of whom she had become. Before BODi I hated myself, I didn’t believe that I was worthy and I honestly thought that everyone who saw me was disgusted at my appearance. I was ashamed to leave the house. Today, I am happy and most days I love my reflection. I have more energy on a day-to-day basis and am not exhausted by simple things like walking up the stairs. My confidence has increased and I’m even considering entering a bikini competition next year.
What inspires your healthy lifestyle?
I am extremely driven by setting personal goals. When I first used BODi I wanted to change my life and become a happier version of me. Then a few months into my journey I had the opportunity to be a part of The Voice. I wanted to be proud of my audition and wanted to look my best, so this helped me to fast track my initial weight loss goals. I also found that having people notice that you’ve lost weight and making positive comments inspired me to keep going. Today, I have a before and after photo as my phone background to remind myself of how far I have come. I never want to go back to that version of Emma.
How has your approach to health and wellness changed since using BODi?
Since using BODi I am the healthiest I have ever been in my life. I am eating the most I ever have with the widest variety of food options. People who know me are shocked at some of the foods I now eat that I wouldn’t have a few years ago. I am conscious of what I am eating and the cost of “wasted” calories. I actually find myself craving healthy foods more often then junk food, but don’t get me wrong I do love the occasional cheeky chocolate! I have discovered that I am a stress eater and have found alternative ways to deal with this. I will listen to music or do a class that relaxes me (body balance, meditation or boxing).
How do you find a balance between healthy eating and enjoying life?
When I first began BODi I was extremely strict with my diet, as I knew that one chocolate would turn into multiple so it was none at all. I even gave up alcohol for a few months (hardest decision of my life). This was the only way for me to achieve the results I wanted. Throughout my journey I’ve learnt lots about food and am now at a point where I have a lot more balance. Sundays are my meal preps days where I plan for the week ahead to avoid opting for take away after a long day at work. I am totally the chick that looks at a menu prior to a night out which helps me make wiser choices throughout the day. I don’t avoid foods like I did when I commenced BODi; I simply choose “treats” in moderation. I have also discovered that vodka, lime and soda is a great option for nights out!
What is your go-to cheat meal?
I don’t have a cheat meal. I just try to make food choices that fit within my daily calories. When I first started on my weight loss journey, my go-to cheat meal would be chicken schnitzel and chips – YUM! Now if I were to pick a cheat meal it would be a white Kit Kat (chocolate addict!).
What would you like other people to know about BODi?
That this product actually works! It is not a “quick fix” and there has been an incredible amount of hard work that has gone into my journey. However, I would not be where I am today without the confidence BODi helped me find. At first glance the product might appear expensive but it is worth every single dollar and besides it’s so much cheaper then all the money you spend on take away throughout the week. If you want to change your life then try BODi, you have nothing to lose and so much to gain. Seriously do it!

BODi is a great company and on the rare occasions where I have had any issues they have been dealt with in a prompt and professional manner. LJ and her team are so friendly and supportive. I love that the social media content shows “normal” people of all shapes and sizes. Moving forward my only suggestion would be to introduce some new flavours (maybe caramel or vanilla).
